Blessing

This painting was originally designed to be drawn on a6x6 foot square at a chalk festival- this is why the birds are so simple and the colors are bright and happy. The large arms lead to an apple they hold, the most important part of the painting. The title, Blessing, is my belief of what eating the apple means. After eating the apple Adam and Eve left the garden to be God’s partner in spreading his light to the rest of the world that he created. This was the original blessing.

        Blessing

They could have picked any apple from the tree, but something told them that this one was special. It was supple and smooth, radiant red and surprisingly warm to the touch. The birds sensed something, and they eagerly awaited what would happen next. The couple knew the apple was a blessing. They were ready for lay ahead of them outside the garden, and for a moment frozen in time, Adam and Eve enjoyed holding the apple before everything changed.
